Around RVA: Lloyd Family Farms

Well hello and welcome to a new week! Did ya’ll do anything fun over the weekend?? Normally our Saturdays are stacked with soccer, but as the field were too wet, we took a little drive just west of Richmond, to visit Rockville, the home of one of our favorite Fall traditions. This week, I’m delighted to begin a new series of posts, spotlighting some of my favorite spots, businesses, and activities around beautiful RVA! First up: the best place to take the fam for a fun-filled day of pumpkin patch perfection…Lloyd Family Farms.

When my family and I first moved to Midlothian a little over five years ago, Lloyd Family Farms wasn’t very crowded…there were people, sure, but it didn’t require parking attendants or careful planning to avoid the crowds. It’s amazing how much this farm has grown over the years and with good reason…we love it there! The Farm has grown right alongside our little family. Take a look at these adorable photos of our girls through the years:

The drive to Lloyd Family Farms is so easy…and they’re open every Friday-Sunday, 9-5pm, thru Halloween. Pro Tip: go early! We’ve been at different times, and the parking, people, etc. is significantly less if you arrive around 9am. I find this is true of most outings involving small children as well, lol. Speaking of little ones, children age 2 and under are admitted free! All other ages are $10 to enter and it’s definitely worth it. This includes the hayride, visiting with the many animals, a corn maze, the straw castle, a sand pile, the giant pinball field, various yard games, and of course, the pumpkin patch!

One of my girls’ favorite things at the pumpkin patch is the hayride back to the fields, barn, and “carnival,” as my girls call it, of food trucks, vendors, and toys to play on. Safety measures were definitely taken at the farm, and we had no issues whatsoever with folks keeping their distance.

As this was a family affair, my favorite photographer was on hand : ). Our little Elise had her eyes closed in the shot above, but it was such a sweet moment I love it anyway…it’s real.

Our girls also LOVE to climb on the “Hay Fort”…a fortress of hay bails that they had the best time playing in/on. Our eldest was so proud she made it to the Summit this year : )…

The kiddos weren’t the only ones who had a great time…

I’m pretty sure I love this tradition as much as they do. As it rained the day before, I went with my favorite Hunter Boots, paired with a Brooks Brother blazer and button down shirt I’ve had for years. You can check out similar options at the bottom of this post, or visit my liketoknow.it page to shop instantly!

In short, visiting the pumpkin patch at Lloyd Family Farms is such a fun family tradition we come back to year after year. If you haven’t already, there’s still time! I’m so thankful, during this crazy time, that we can still get out there and do some of the things that we love. Have you visited a pumpkin patch around RVA yet this year?? Which one is your favorite? Leave a comment and let me know!

Have a lovely Fall week ya’ll!
